AFCAT Notification 2024: Indian Air Force IAF released the official notification for the AFCAT 2024 examination yesterday. Before that, the authority released the official notification on 20th May 2024. Candidates who are eligible can apply for the examination from 30th May 2024. The last day to submit the online application is June 28 2024. This year a total number of 304 seats are available for candidates to join. Along with the announcement the authority has released detailed notifications for students to go through thoroughly. The exam date for AFCAT 2024 is 9th, 10th and 11th August 2024.
What is AFCAT?
AFCAT is a national-level examination which stands for the Air Force Common Admission Test. The main authority that handles this examination is the Indian Air Force. This examination is conducted annually in February and August. Through this examination, the Indian Air Force selects candidates for class 1 officers in flying and ground duties (technical and non-technical). In this examination male and female both candidates can apply. After clearing this examination candidates can join the Short Service Commission in the flying branch and permanent commission short service in ground duties.
Flying Branch & Ground Duty (Non-technical): The candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks each in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level and possess a three-year graduation degree OR a BE/BTech degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognized university.<br> Ground Duty (Technical): <ul><li>Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) (AE(L)): The candidate must have scored a minimum of 60% marks each in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level and hold a degree in graduation/post-graduation in engineering and technology from a recognized university.</li></ul>
Age Limit
Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years (Candidates must have been born between 02/01/2001 to 01/01/2005).<br> Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical): 20 to 26 years (Candidates must have been born between 02/01/1999 to 01/01/2005).
Martial Status
Candidates must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course, and marriage is not permitted during training.
Nationality
Candidate must be a citizen of India as per the Indian Citizenship Act, 1955.
